The College of Nursing has its origin in the Department of Nursing of the Hebei Medical College for Continuing Education. In 1984, it began offering junior college education in adult nursing. It was one of the first institutions in China to offer higher education in nursing. In May 2005, the department was fully integrated into Hebei University. The school launched its full-time undergraduate nursing program in 2006, obtained the authority to grant first-level discipline master's degrees in nursing in 2011, and was approved to confer professional master's degrees in nursing in 2021.
